Hi, I’m Lauren—a flutist and teacher based in the Vancouver area. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here, and I’d love to be part of your musical journey.

With over five years of teaching experience, I’ve worked with students of all ages and skill levels. I’m passionate about creating a supportive, respectful environment where students feel comfortable, inspired, and encouraged to grow. My teaching focuses on developing strong tone, solid technique, and expressive musicality, while also helping students build effective practice habits and a meaningful connection to music.

Every student is unique, and I tailor each lesson to meet individual goals and learning styles. Whether you’re just starting out, preparing for RCM exams, looking for help with school band music, or simply playing for enjoyment, I’m here to support you.

Many of my RCM students have achieved First Class Honours with Distinction, and I take pride in guiding each student toward their personal best.

I offer in-person lessons in the Vancouver area, as well as online lessons for those who prefer or require a virtual option. Feel free to reach out with any questions—I’d love to hear from you!

Bio

As a flutist, I have performed in a wide range of settings, including solo recitals, orchestral concerts, chamber ensembles, and wind ensemble performances. I have had the privilege of performing with ensembles such as the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra, the Calgary Youth Orchestra, and the University of Victoria Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony.

My musical training has taken me through the Mount Royal Conservatory in Calgary, the University of Victoria, and the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello in Venice, Italy. I have also furthered my studies through summer programs including Orford Musique and Domaine Forget.

I am currently completing a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance at the University of British Columbia, with an expected graduation in 2027. My diverse performance and educational background informs my teaching approach and allows me to support students with a wide range of goals, interests, and levels of experience.
